Dr. Palumbo earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University school of medicine in 2008. She completed a combined residency program in Pediatrics, General Psychiatry, and Child and adolescent psychiatry at the Warren Alpert School of medicine of Brown University. Dr. Palumbo is currently board certified in all three specialties. After residency, Dr. Palumbo joined the faculty at the Lurie Center/Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Palumbo is an instructor in Pediatrics at Harvard medical school. While, Dr. Palumbo has treated patients with Down syndrome since starting the Lurie Center, she became more formally associated the MGH Down syndrome clinic as their consulting psychiatrist in October 2015. Dr. Palumbo treats a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses in patients with Down syndrome across the lifespan. In addition to clinical work, Dr. Palumbo is involved in various research projects at the Lurie Center.
