Mariana T. Osorio-Ramirez has served in the office of Congressman Stephen F. Lynch since 2008. In her capacity as Senior Legislative Assistant she manages the health, foreign affairs, defense, military, immigration, veterans’ affairs, homeland security, and intelligence portfolios. Prior to her current position, she was a Legislative Fellow for former Congressman Charlie Gonzalez of the 20th District of Texas.
Since coming to Washington in 1999 Mrs. Osorio-Ramirez has worked in various positions in Congress and government. After serving in the office of Senator Chuck Schumer she was a research associate at the lobbying and consulting firm of Collins and Company, Inc. in Arlington, VA. She then moved on to Abt Associates, Inc. where she aided in the management of three multi-million dollar development projects from the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. Department of Labor.
Mrs. Osorio-Ramirez holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service degree with a concentration in Foreign Policy and International Security from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies (Political Science / German) from Amherst College. Originally from New York, she is fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational German.
