Dr. Munir is Director of Psychiatry in the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) in the Division of Developmental Medicine, Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is the recipient of numerous NIH-sponsored research and research training grants. He is a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a recipient of its George Tarjan Award in Developmental Disabilities. He serves as current chair of the Section on Psychiatry of Intellectual Developmental Disorders of the World Psychiatric Association. He was a member of the recent Rehabilitation 2030 program of the World Health Organization. Dr. Munir completed his medical studies at University College London, residency training in psychiatry at MGH, and child and adolescent psychiatry at McLean Hospital. He has a doctorate in epidemiology and maternal child health from the Harvard Chan School.
